UNIVERSAL 5 3/4 Tortoise Vintage Sunglasses – Deadstock Frame – New Custom Lenses
Deadstock / unworn vintage frame.
The frame appears to have never been worn and shows beautiful preserved acetate throughout. Minor age-related storage wear may be present consistent with long-term vintage storage, but nothing that detracts from presentation or wearability. The pictures tell the story.
Era
Likely late 1950s to early 1960s American optical-era styling. The “5 3/4” temple marking references the older vintage sizing system commonly found on mid-century American-made frames.
Frame
Classic rectangular tortoise acetate frame with strong mid-century Americana styling. Clean lines, thick temples, and sculpted front give this piece a timeless “golden era” optical-to-sunglass conversion feel. Very wearable today while still carrying true vintage character.
Lens
Brand new custom lenses installed by Second Chance Customs.
Warm amber/yellow gradient tint gives the frame a true vintage driving-lens aesthetic while enhancing contrast and depth perception in changing light conditions.
