Design Notes & Historical Relevance:
Crafted during the golden age of bold fashion, the Mod. 460 channels the signature butterfly silhouette that defined late-70s glamour. The upward sweep of the frame is both dramatic and elegant — a shape favored by icons like Catherine Deneuve and Sophia Loren. The engraved Silhouette signature on the temple adds a refined touch, and the contoured plastic brow bar gives structure without adding weight.
Silhouette, while now known for their modern rimless collections, once specialized in ornate, expressive shapes like this — and the 460 is one of the most distinct from that period. Seldom seen on the resale market, this model is a true collector’s piece.
