Collector note:

While many Marwitz frames are commonly found with Carl Zeiss lenses, Zeiss was not exclusive. During the 1950s–60s, Marwitz frames were frequently sold lens-ready and fitted by opticians using premium German glass, including Zeiss. The lenses on this example are original, factory-era correct, and consistent with professional optical finishing of the period.

SIZE

  • Temple length: 130 mm
  • Fit: Medium
  • Frames can be professionally adjusted to fit most face sizes

ERA & RELEVANCE

This pair represents post-war West German optical craftsmanship, produced during a period when precision engineering and optician-driven customization defined European eyewear.

Marwitz frames were sold primarily through professional optical retailers and are respected for their restrained design, durability, and comfort. Sunglasses from this era—especially in true deadstock condition with original German mineral glass lenses—are significantly rarer than optical frames.

The silhouette remains timeless and highly wearable today.
