Deadstock / Unworn Vintage Frame

An exceptionally preserved original Persol Ratti frame showing no evidence of normal prior wear. The frame has been carefully inspected by Second Chance Eyewear and fitted with brand-new custom gradient sun lenses.

Because this is genuine vintage deadstock, extremely minor storage or handling marks may be present when examined closely under direct light. These are consistent with decades of preservation and do not detract from the overall presentation.

I would not publish a temple length unless we physically measure it, because the surviving online 09181 examples have differing measurements and should not be used to override the markings on your actual pair.

This is the kind of Persol that separates ordinary vintage eyewear from genuine Ratti-era Persol.

The 09181 combines a restrained Italian butterfly shape with the unmistakable Persol arrow at the temples. Unlike the heavier 649/714-type silhouettes most buyers associate with Persol today, this design is considerably slimmer and more elegant.

More importantly, this is an original vintage frame rather than a contemporary retro interpretation. Specialist vintage sources specifically date surviving 09181 examples to the 1980s and identify them as products of the original Ratti manufacturing period. 

Finding one in Deadstock / Unworn condition, particularly in versatile glossy black, makes this a much stronger collector piece than an ordinary used vintage Persol.
