Deep smoke-brown tint with excellent coverage and the dramatic, slightly wrapped profile intended for this frame.

The lenses appear exceptionally clean and consistent with the unworn condition of the frame.

I would not invent the remaining numerical measurements. The 130 mm temple measurement is independently documented for the SJP 039. We can physically measure lens width, height and overall frame width before publishing.

Why We Love Them | Era & Relevance

This is exactly the kind of Jean Paul Gaultier eyewear that has aged well: aggressive geometry, exaggerated proportions and an almost industrial approach to the hinge and temple construction.

The black front against the pearlescent ivory temples is particularly strong. From the front it reads severe and futuristic; from the side it becomes unmistakably Gaultier.

The included original documentation references EN 1836:2005, placing this example within the post-2005 archive period. I would describe it as mid-2000s / Y2K-era archive eyewear rather than assigning an exact production year without stronger documentation.

More importantly, finding an SJP 039 unworn with its original case, cloth and documentation still together is substantially harder than finding a worn frame by itself.
