Why We Love Them | Era & Relevance
The Bunker77 collection explores the life of Adolph Bernard “Bunker” Spreckels III—surfer, unconventional style figure, and heir whose restless life crossed surf culture and Hollywood society.

Developed in dialogue with Takuji Masuda’s documentary Bunker 77, the collection draws on archival imagery and Bunker’s personal style.

The Decato takes its name from an unfinished film conceived in 1976 while Bunker was staying at the Sunset Tower. Its shape references glasses he wore along Hollywood Boulevard, translating that period’s extravagant confidence into a sculptural navigator.

In Agar, the dark tortoiseshell, warm Tangerine lenses, and gold-tone details give the frame depth and character. The Calavera medallions connect the design to Bunker’s personal skull-and-bones letterhead.
