Frame Details

The DG4177 Domenico, named for co-founder Domenico Dolce, is a square frame with a subtle wayfarer-inspired brow and generously thick acetate. This colorway is a translucent honey with a soft matte finish, so the light glows through the acetate rather than reflecting off it, and the fine metal hinge pins show faintly through the temples. Clean DOLCE&GABBANA lettering sits on the outer temple. It is a pared-back, masculine shape made distinctive by its warm, luminous color.

Why We Love Them | Era & Relevance

Vintage. The Domenico was introduced in 2013 as part of a group of Dolce & Gabbana frames named for the house's founders, and it is now out of production. It takes the classic square wayfarer and refines it in thick Italian acetate. Of its colorways, the matte translucent honey is the most striking: warm, softly luminous, and quite different from the black and tortoise versions most often seen. Unworn examples in this colorway are uncommon.
