Vintage B&L Ray-Ban Wayfarer 5022 “Crystal Clear” – Made in U.S.A.

Description

Original American-made Bausch & Lomb Ray-Ban Wayfarer 5022 in rare translucent “Crystal Clear” acetate.

Produced in the late 1970s to mid-1980s, this is one of the final pre-Luxottica Wayfarers made in the U.S.A. The 5022 marking indicates a 50 mm lens width with a 22 mm bridge.

Materials & Details

• Frame: Transparent cellulose acetate with classic silver rivet details
• Lenses: Original Bausch & Lomb G-15 mineral glass lenses, etched “BL”
• Hardware: Original 7-barrel hinges
• Markings: “B&L 5022” and “B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A.” 

Condition

Pre-owned.

All original hardware and B&L lenses intact.

Right lens shows visible scratches in the line of sight, and both lenses exhibit wear consistent with age.

Frame shows minor patina consistent with vintage acetate. Hinges are tight and function smoothly.

Original B&L mineral glass lenses retained for authenticity. Optional replacement with Ray-Ban or Berko’s Designs custom lenses available upon request.

Case

• Includes authentic Ray-Ban protective case — either the classic brown or black edition as pictured.
• Both feature the embossed Ray-Ban® logo button and stamped “100% UV Protection – Lenses by Luxottica” mark on the exterior.
• Each case is fully lined for lens protection and designed to fit most Ray-Ban models securely.
• Includes a Ray-Ban branded cleaning cloth and booklet (when available).
