This is one of the more distinctive modern Cartier eyewear designs, translating the visual language of Clash de Cartier jewelry directly into the frame architecture.

Cartier describes the collection as incorporating the jewelry line’s signature picots and clous carrés — square studs — into eyewear. 

The temples are especially important: the repeating three-dimensional Clash elements are not merely decorative castings. Each individual Picot is designed to move slightly, recreating the characteristic movement and tactile quality of the Clash de Cartier jewelry collection. 

That articulated construction gives the temples an almost bracelet-like quality and makes this considerably more jewelry-driven than a conventional Cartier rimless frame.
