Belstaff did in fact produce a dedicated Howard Hughes Series of eyewear, described in period references as lightweight mixed-material designs honoring the legendary American aviator.

This is not simply a Belstaff aviator.

It belongs to Belstaff’s Howard Hughes Series, a dedicated eyewear line created around the mythology of one of the most famous figures in aviation history. Period material specifically identifies the Howard Hughes Series as part of Belstaff’s aviation-oriented eyewear program. 

The design feels completely intentional: classic pilot proportions combined with polished metal architecture, dark green lenses and leather-covered temples that tie directly back to Belstaff’s heritage in leather outerwear and aviation-inspired equipment.

Belstaff’s association with Howard Hughes imagery also extended beyond eyewear. The brand’s Howard Aviator jacket became associated with the Hughes aesthetic during the era of The Aviator, although the actual sunglasses used in the film were a different model and brand. 

That distinction makes this listing stronger, not weaker: these are an authentic Belstaff Howard Hughes tribute design, not a falsely attributed movie prop.
