Condition

Deadstock / Unworn. The frame has never been worn and presents as new, with clear, unclouded acetate and tight hinges. Lenses have been newly fitted by our in-house team (see Lenses).

Frame Details

A clean rectangular front cut in crystal-clear acetate, carrying the faintest blush at the rims where the material thickens. A small notched detail at the brow line, just inside the bridge, gives the otherwise spare silhouette a quiet signature. The straight temples reveal their embedded metal core wire through the clear acetate, so the construction itself becomes part of the design.

Fitted with custom dark grey gradient lenses, cut and installed in-house. The tint is deepest at the top and eases toward the lower edge, giving real sun coverage while the clear frame keeps the overall look light.

Why We Love Them | Era & Relevance

Vintage. Alain Mikli founded his house in 1978 and became one of the defining voices of French eyewear, known for provocative shapes and exclusive acetate colorways. This A.M 88 series frame shows the quieter side of that vocabulary: a pared-back rectangle in crystal acetate, where the notched brow and the visible core wire do the talking. Unworn vintage Mikli in clear acetate, with no yellowing, is increasingly difficult to find.
